Our story...

Alcovy Builders Inc. is comprised of 3 partners, which have a combined history in the Walton County building industry totaling over 65 years. 

The partners, Patrick Allen, John Jessup & Rodney McCart started Alcovy Builders in 2010. The 3 have worked together to build the company from a small rehab business, as the industry was recovering from the housing crisis, into a very productive company specializing in both speculative home building as well as custom build homes for individuals that may want to build on personal or family land.

The partners at Alcovy Builders strive to create an outstanding building experience for the customer, through clear communication, honest building practices, accurate cost planning, and hands-on services by both our project management team and the top shelf subcontractors that have been a part of our team for many years.

Alcovy Builders builds each home as if we planned to live in it.  Alcovy Builders endeavors to make your dream home become a reality!

Our people:

Rodney Mccart
Rodney McCart is from Walton County. His family still owns the property in Walton County where his grandfather was born in 1907, & where he now operates the McCart Plumbing and Alcovy Builders offices. 

Rodney first developed an interest in plumbing at the age of 10, while helping his father make repairs on frozen pipes for the elderly and single mothers in the community.  Upon graduating high school, Rodney went on to work for a local Walton County plumbing contractor while putting himself through college.  By the time Rodney had graduated from Southern Technical College (now known as Kennesaw State University) in 1989, he had already started his own plumbing business and built his first speculative home in Loganville. 

This would just be the beginning of a long & fruitful career in the construction industry most of which occurred in his home town.  Rodney has built over 500 homes in Walton County and continues to work with his partners at Alcovy Builders as they build both speculative and custom homes.  

Rodney and Christy, his wife of 32 years and their two youngest children still reside in Walton County.  The McCart's have 6 children in all.

Rodney has been a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association for more than 20 years.

John Jessup
John Jessup, a partner at Alcovy Builders, was born in Georgia and grew up in Loganville, where he and his wife Anna reside with their 3 children. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent three years serving his country.   In 1993, he graduated from The University of Georgia with an Accounting degree. He began working with a regional accounting firm in Gainesville, GA and earned his CPA license during that time.   In 2005, he accepted the Chief Financial Officer role for a local building company and in 2010 formed Alcovy Builders with Patrick and Rodney. John handles most of the accounting, banking, insurance and other administrative duties for the company. 

John is an active member of his community and serves on the Walton County Board of Education. John’s hobbies include fishing, hunting and watching college football, while cheering for the Dawgs.

Patrick Allen
Patrick Allen is from Grayson, GA (at the time a small town) in southeastern Gwinnett County. He has been active in the single family home building industry since high school graduation in 1995, beginning as a journeyman plumber on a plumbing installation crew. In 1999, while staying active in the plumbing industry, he graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management. At that time he took a position working as an assistant superintendent constructing new homes in Loganville, GA. From 1999-2010 Patrick worked for a home building firm where he had the opportunity to lead other superintendents in multiple new housing developments while also helping many local families with Custom Home construction projects.

In 2010, Patrick, Rodney and John formed Alcovy Builders Inc. and began purchasing, renovating, remodeling  and selling in addition to constructing single family homes. Patrick currently resides in Walton Co. GA with his wife of 19 years, their three children and has been blessed with the opportunity to make a living in the local community. He is also currently a Georgia State licensed Residential Contractor, a Georgia State  Licensed Residential Plumber and is currently a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders association.
